Select Specialty Hospital - Des Moines is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Manager/Respiratory Therapist (RRT). The role oversees the respiratory therapy department's daily operations, staff development, and compliance with regulatory standards while supporting patient care and the Chief Nursing Officer.

The position requires NBRC-registered RRT, current state license, BLS, ACLS within 6 months, and an associates or higher degree.

Qualifications

• Current State License.
• Active NBRC RRT credential.
• BLS certification required by start date.
• ACLS within 6 months of employment.
• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the respiratory therapy department.
• Lead staff interviews, hiring decisions, orientation and evaluations.
• Manage staff development, training and equipment/inventory issues.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and standard of care.
• Coordinate weaning protocols and pulmonary rounds with physicians.
• Maintain staffing schedule and cost control.
• Promote clinical excellence and patient/family education.
