Job summary

Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK seeks a Respiratory Therapy professional for PRN Nights. You will lead initial respiratory assessments and interventions, administer prescribed treatments under supervision, and document patient updates for smooth care transitions.

Must be enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (2nd year preferred) and hold a BLS credential within 1 month of hire; provisional OK credential required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Enrolled in accredited Respiratory Therapy program; 2nd year preferred.
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire; Provisional RCP credentialed from Oklahoma Board.

Responsibilities

• Lead initial respiratory assessments and care interventions within your scope of practice to support recovery and comfort.
• Deliver prescribed respiratory medications and treatments under supervision, prioritizing patient safety.
• Document and communicate vital patient updates to ensure seamless transitions in care.
• Educate patients and families on disease management and treatment plans.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Lead initial respiratory assessments and care interventions within your scope of practice to directly support the clinical recovery and comfort of our patients.
• Deliver prescribed respiratory medications and treatments under professional supervision, prioritizing patient safety and positive therapeutic outcomes.
• Support the multidisciplinary care team by accurately documenting and communicating vital patient updates to ensure seamless, high-quality transitions in care.
• Empower patients and their families by providing clear, accessible education on disease management and treatment plans to aid in their journey home.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Required Credential(s):
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Provisional Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High school diploma equivalency OR Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline required.

Additional Preferences

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
• 2nd year student preferred
