Job summary

Waterside Health & Rehab Center in Norfolk, VA is seeking a compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing facility team. The Assistant Director of Respiratory will assist the Director in planning, organizing, and directing daily Vent Unit operations and respiratory services to ensure high-quality resident care.

The role requires an active Respiratory Therapist license and BLS, with at least two years of supervisory experience in a hospital or long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain an active Respiratory Therapist license in the state of employment and a current BLS certification.
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing facility, or related health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Respiratory in planning, organizing and directing day-to-day Vent Unit and Respiratory Department functions.
• Collaborate with the DON, ADON, Administrator and Medical Director to ensure high-quality resident care.

Position Summary:

The primary function of the Assistant Director of Respiratory is to assist the Director of Respiratory in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Vent Unit and Respiratory Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards as well as guidelines and regulations that govern the Community.The Assistant Director of Respiratory will work alongside the Director of Respiratory with the DON, ADON, Administrator, and the Medical Director to ensure the highest degree of quality of care is maintained for each resident at all times.

Education/Qualifications:

• Must possess and keep a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of employment along with an active BLS certification.

• Preferred, as a minimum, two (2) years of experience in supervisory role in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care facility.

Shift and Wage:

• Full-Time Opportunity Available

• Shift: Days

• Wage: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
