Job summary

Jefferson Health, located in Cherry Hill, NJ, seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist to administer respiratory therapy, assess patients, and consult with physicians to determine treatment plans. You will document care and monitor progress to evaluate treatment effectiveness, including ventilation management.

Responsibilities include invasive/non-invasive evaluations, coordination with the health care team, and maintaining PFT/ABG laboratory operations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Licensed by the State Board of Medicine or State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support/BLS.
• Associate's/2-year degree required.
• Registered by NBRC; must obtain NBRC registration within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Administers physician prescribed respiratory therapy, including oxygen, medications, PFTs, ABGs, and all mechanical ventilation.
• Performs evaluation procedures, invasive and non-invasive, to determine care needs and recommends protocols to improve outcomes and discharge planning.
• Monitors patients on mechanical ventilation including assessment, rounds, weaning, airway care, and diagnostic testing.
• Collects and analyzes sputum, blood and breath specimens; measures lung capacity to identify impairments.
• Offers diagnostic results and treatment suggestions based on analysis of the patient.
• Communicates with health care team to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services.
• Ensures smooth operation of PFT and ABG laboratory, or other duties as assigned.
