Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Abington Memorial Hospital in Pennsylvania. The RT will administer prescribed respiratory care, monitor ventilated patients, perform respiratory evaluations, and coordinate with physicians to optimize outcomes.

Requires NBRC credential, state licensure, BLS certification, and an Associate's degree in Respiratory Care. Experience with PFT/ABG labs is preferred; ACLS/NALS are desirable but not required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Licensed by the State Board of Medicine or State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support/BLS.
• Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 2 years of hire if not already Registered.

Responsibilities

• Administers physician-prescribed respiratory therapy including oxygen, meds, PFTs, ABGs, and ventilation.
• Performs evaluation procedures, invasive and non-invasive, to determine care needs and makes recommendations.
• Monitors patients on mechanical ventilation; conducts rounds, troubleshooting, and weaning as appropriate.
• Collects and analyzes sputum, blood and breath specimens for diagnosis; assesses lung capacity.
• Communicates with health-care team to ensure continuity of care.
• Operates and ensures smooth function of PFT/ABG laboratory as assigned.
