The role emphasizes adherence to quality standards and coordination with the health care team. The candidate should hold an AMA-approved Respiratory Care degree, NBRC registration or plan to obtain it within 2 years, and BLS certification, with ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Licensed by the State Board of Medicine or State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support/BLS.
• Associate's/2-year degree required.
• Registered by the NBRC (or must obtain NBRC registration within 2 years of hire).

Responsabilités

• Administers physician prescribed respiratory therapy including oxygen, medications, PFTs, ABGs, and ventilation.
• Evaluates patient condition and consults with physicians to determine treatment plans.
• Monitors patients on mechanical ventilation and conducts routine rounds and weaning.
• Collects and analyzes sputum, blood and breath specimens for diagnosis.
• Communicates results and treatment suggestions to the health care team.
• Ensures smooth operation of the PFT and ABG laboratory and adheres to standards.
