This role is to float throughout the system for all RRT needs in the Puget Sound Area. Hospitals included are Auburn Medical Center, Covington Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, Tacoma General Hospital, Allenmore Hospital, and Capital Medical Center.
Additional Expectations in OCED (Off Campus Emergency Department)
Assists the Registered Nurse or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) in providing a variety of patient cares/treatments as directed within their scope of practice.
Performs direct patient care activities independently in accordance with MHS policies and procedures within the WAC RCP scope of practice. Examples of duties include:

Position Summary
The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for delivering skilled respiratory care modalities and interventions to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities. This requires advanced practitioner skills to intervene in complex patient care situations. The position involves specialized training and experience to perform independent, professional respiratory care, ventilator management, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and clinical evaluation of care, including establishing therapy and treatment objectives, and reviewing care based on patient age and needs. The role operates independently under limited supervision, with internal contacts including patient care staff and management, and external contacts including patients, families, physicians, outside healthcare providers, and other organizations.
