Butler Hospital is seeking talented and energized program therapists to treat patients in our Adult Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Partial Program. The CBT partial is our largest partial hospital program, treating adults 18+ with depression, anxiety, and other mood-related symptoms. This is an excellent opportunity for clinicians to work alongside highly talented psychiatrists, prescribing nurses, occupational therapists, and other program therapists as part of our outstanding team!

Job duties include initial psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, individual therapy, group therapy, outside collaboration with providers/schools, and family meetings. This role involves treating young adults, adults, older adults, patients in the LGBTQ+ communities, those on the Autism Spectrum, individuals with co-occurring substance use concerns, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, OCD, and other psychiatric conditions.

Schedule:

The program operates Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. While the primary role is within the CBT partial program, all therapists may float occasionally to support other programs as needed.

The role offers paid time off, medical, dental, and other benefits. Incentive pay beyond full-time requirements is available but not mandatory.

Requirements:

  • Education: Master’s Degree in a related field required
  • Training and Experience: Experience in a psychiatric setting is required. Specific training or experience related to the population served (e.g., specialty programs like ADP/Substance, WPP/DBT, YAP/ACT, OCD IOP/ERP) or continuing education in these areas is necessary. Experience providing group and individual psychotherapy is required.
  • Special Qualifications: Interest and commitment to the programs at Butler Hospital and the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University.
  • Mental Demands: Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, and treat an acute patient population.
