Advocate Health and Hospitals Corporation is seeking a Respiratory Therapist at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for a full-time 3rd shift role. The position involves ventilator management, patient assessment, therapy administration, and education within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include operating critical care ventilators, collaborating with physicians and staff, and upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program, with a minimum of an associate degree.
• RCP license issued by the state; NBRC credentials RRT or CRT within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients using pulmonary diagnostics, chest radiographs, labs, and blood gas interpretation.
• Operate ventilators in critical and non-critical care settings.
• Administer medications and therapies per physician orders.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and ensure functionality of equipment.
• Educate patients on therapy purpose, technique and self-care.
• Collaborate with physicians and departments to optimize patient care.
• Under physician direction, adhere to policies across service areas and perform assigned duties.
• Provide accurate handoffs with clear communication to team members.
• Promote safety culture and report patient safety events promptly.
• Teach and precept new teammates and students.
• Provide age-appropriate care across the patient life span.
