Job summary

Stat Home Health is looking for a Full-Time Respiratory Therapist in Opelousas, LA. As part of Sage Specialty Hospital, you will provide essential respiratory therapy services, monitor patient progress, and ensure the highest quality of care. Candidates must hold credentials from the National Board of Respiratory Care and be graduates of accredited programs. This position offers a sign-on bonus of $7,500 and comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401-K, and online training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be knowledgeable of general, rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices.
• Flexible schedule including 12-hour shifts required.

Responsibilities

• Provide general respiratory therapeutic services including oxygen and medical gas therapy.
• Monitor patient/resident progress and update respiratory care plan as needed.

Requirements

• Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) and be a graduate of an approved AMA school of Respiratory Therapy
• Must be knowledgeable of general, rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices, procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines governing long term care
• Must be able to work flexible schedule including 12-hour shifts
• Patient care oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Duties

• Provide general respiratory therapeutic services including oxygen, medical gas, humidification and suction therapies.
• Document patient/resident procedures, organize and analyze data, maintain accurate records.
• Communicate relevant patient/resident information to appropriate physicians and caregivers
• Provide staff education related to respiratory therapy
• Exhibits commitment to results by looking for and recommending/implementing process improvements
• Monitor patient/resident progress and update respiratory care plan as needed
