Job summary

The Carpenter Health Network in Lake Charles, LA is hiring for full-time and PRN Respiratory Therapists. Candidates must be NBRC credentialed and a graduate of an AMA Respiratory Therapy program. The role requires flexibility for 12-hour shifts and a patient-centered approach.

You'll provide respiratory care, document procedures, communicate with physicians, educate staff, and participate in care plan updates to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Credentialed by NBRC and a graduate of an AMA Respiratory Therapy program.
• Knowledgeable of long-term care nursing and medical practices, procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines.
• Able to work a flexible 12-hour shift schedule and patient care oriented.

Responsibilities

• Provide general respiratory therapy services including oxygen, medical gas, humidification, and suction therapies.
• Document patient procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate relevant information to physicians and caregivers.
• Provide staff education related to respiratory therapy.
• Contribute to process improvements and monitor patient progress.
• Update respiratory care plans as needed.

Requirements:

• Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) and be a graduate of an approved AMA school of Respiratory Therapy
• Must be knowledgeable of general, rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices, procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines governing long term care

• Provide staff education related to respiratory therapy
• Exhibits commitment to results by looking for and recommending/implementing process improvements
• Monitor patient/resident progress and update respiratory care plan as needed
