Qualifications

• Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Knowledgeable of general nursing and medical practices for long term care.
• Ability to work flexible schedule including 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide general respiratory therapeutic services to patients.
• Document patient/resident procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate relevant patient/resident information to appropriate staff.
• Provide staff education related to respiratory therapy.
• Monitor patient/resident progress and update care plans as necessary.

Starting Pay $35-$37/hour

Requirements

• Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) and be a graduate of an approved AMA school of Respiratory Therapy
• Current and active Louisiana Respiratory Therapy license
• Must be knowledgeable of general, rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices, procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines governing long term care
• Must be able to work flexible schedule including 12-hour shifts
• Patient care oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Duties

• Provide general respiratory therapeutic services to patients including oxygen, medical gas, and humidification and suction therapies.
• Document patient/resident procedures, organize and analyze data, maintain accurate records.
• Communicate relevant patient/resident information to appropriate physicians and caregivers
• Provide staff education related to respiratory therapy
• Exhibits commitment to results by looking for and recommending/implementing process improvements
• Monitor patient/resident progress and update respiratory care plan as needed
