Job summary

Heart Hospital of Austin is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to support patients across routine and critical care settings. You will perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, manage invasive and noninvasive ventilation, and provide care with a collaborative team using advanced respiratory technology.

The role emphasizes patient and family education, clinical resource support to physicians and nurses, and ensuring equipment readiness with strict infection control standards.

Qualifications

• NBRC-RRT certification is required.
• ACLS and BCLS certifications must be obtained within stated timeframes.
• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy is required.

Responsibilities

• Assessing respiratory status by performing focused exams and interpreting breath sounds.
• Delivering evidence-based therapy, including oxygen, aerosolized medications, and airway clearance techniques.
• Managing ventilation with invasive and noninvasive ventilation and adjusting settings as needed.
• Educating patients and families and acting as a clinical resource to the care team.
• Maintaining equipment and following infection prevention standards.
