Job summary

Endeavor Health in Glenview, IL is seeking a Respiratory Therapist RRT for per diem shifts. You will support neonatal to geriatric patients, perform prescribed therapies, and monitor responses across diverse clinical settings.

The role requires CoARC-approved education, RRT credential or registry eligibility, IL licensure within six months, CPR certification, and ACLS/NRP/PALS within 24 months. Per diem hours vary with department needs, including evenings and some weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program (CoARC) is required.
• RRT certification or registry-eligible status is required.
• Illinois licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner within six months of employment is required.
• Current CPR certification (AHA) is required.
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS must be obtained within 24 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with respiratory therapy procedures as requested.
• Provide respiratory care to neonatal to geriatric patients as ordered.
• Assess patients to determine the best method of treatment administration.
• Document treatments, equipment maintenance and quality control activities.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly to patients and families.
• Monitor patient response to therapy, with emphasis on pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Provide education to patients and staff.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$33.16 - $49.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Respiratory Therapist RRT - Per Diem
• Location: Glenbrook Hospital - Glenview, IL
• Per Diem | Hours are Based on Department Needs
• Hours:Shifts will vary Monday-Friday from 6:30am-7pm, 6:30pm-7am, 6:30am-3pm, or 2:30pm-11pm with rotating weekends and holidays

What you will do:

• Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians
• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
• Provide patient and staff education

What you will need:

• Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), required
• License/Certifications:Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status, required
• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment, required
• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association, required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 24 months of employment
