Job summary

Endeavor Health's Evanston Hospital in Evanston, IL, seeks a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a part-time 20-hour/week role. You'll assist physicians and provide care across neonatal to geriatric patients, following hospital policy.

With a $10,000 sign-on bonus and a pay range of $33.16–$49.74 per hour, candidates must have a CoARC-accredited RT program, RRT or registry-eligible status, IL licensure within 6 months, and CPR/ACLS/NRP/PALS within 24 months.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or registry-eligible status.
• Illinois licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner within six months.
• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• ACLS, NRP and PALS required within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physicians with Respiratory Therapy procedures.
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered.
• Assess patients to determine the most suitable method of administering treatment.
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and orders as directed.
• Communicate treatment plans to patients and families clearly.
• Monitor patient responses, especially pediatric and neonatal.
• Provide patient and staff education.

Hourly Pay Range: $33.16 - $49.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

• Part Time | 20 hours/week
• Hours: Shift varies Monday - Sunday from 7am - 3pm, 3pm - 11pm, 11pm - 7am, 7am - 7pm, 7pm - 7am, and 11am - 11pm

What you will do

• Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians
• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
• Provide patient and staff education

What you will need

• Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), required
• License/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status, required
• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure required within six months of employment
• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association, required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required within 24 months of employment
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required within 24 months of employment
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 24 months of employment
