Qualifications

• Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Illinois
• Graduate of a CoARC approved school of respiratory therapy
• CPR (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

• Assist Physicians with respiratory therapy procedures as requested
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients as ordered
• Assess patients to determine suitable therapy methods
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance, and quality checks; transcribe orders
• Clearly communicate treatments to patients and families
• Monitor patient response to therapy, with focus on pediatric and neonatal cases
• Provide patient and staff education

Hourly Pay Range: $33.16 - $49.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Respiratory Therapist

• Location: Evanston Hospital - Evanston, IL

• Per Diem | Hours are Scheduled Based on Department Needs

• Hours: Varies Monday - Sunday from 7pm - 7am, weekends and holidays.

What you will do:

• Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures

• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures

• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment

• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians

• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner

• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients

• Provide patient and staff education

What you will need:

• License: Licensed by the State of Illinois as a Respiratory Care Practitioner required

• Education: Graduate of an CoARC approved school of respiratory therapy, required

• Certification: CPR (BLS) issued by American Heart Association, required
