Endeavor Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for per diem coverage at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, IL. Shifts vary across early and late day slots, with weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.

The role includes assisting physicians, delivering care to diverse patient groups, and documenting treatments while ensuring patient and family understanding of procedures. A valid CoARC-accredited RT program and active RRT credential are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program (CoARC) is required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or registry-eligible status is required.
• Illinois licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner within six months of employment is required.
• Current CPR certification (American Heart Association) is required.
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS are required within 24 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with Respiratory Therapy procedures as requested.
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians.
• Assess patients to determine the most suitable method of administering treatment.
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe orders.
• Communicate treatment details clearly to patients and families.
• Monitor patient response to therapy with emphasis on pediatric and neonatal care.
• Provide education to patients and staff.

Hourly Pay Range:

$33.16 - $49.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Respiratory Therapist RRT - Per Diem
• Location: Glenbrook Hospital - Glenview, IL
• Per Diem | Hours are Based on Department Needs
• Hours:Shifts will vary Monday-Friday from 6:30am-7pm, 6:30pm-7am, 6:30am-3pm, or 2:30pm-11pm with rotating weekends and holidays

What you will do:

• Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians
• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
• Provide patient and staff education

What you will need:

• Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), required
• License/Certifications:Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status, required
• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment, required
• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association, required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 24 months of employment
