Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for Highland Park, IL, working part-time at 20 hours per week. Shifts vary from 7am–3pm, 3pm–11pm, and 11pm–7am with weekend rotations and holidays required. A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is offered.

• Licensed by the State of Illinois as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Graduate of an AMA approved school of respiratory therapy.
• CPR (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association.
• 6 months health care experience preferred; 1 year adult critical care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians.
• Assess patients to determine the most suitable method of administering treatment.
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone orders.
• Communicate treatment details clearly to patients and families.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy with emphasis on pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Provide education to patients and staff.

Hourly Pay Range: $33.16 - $49.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

• Part Time | 20 hours/week

What you will do:

• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians
• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
• Provide patient and staff education

What will you need:

• License: Licensed by the State of Illinois as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, required
• Education: Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of respiratory therapy, required
• Certification: CPR (BLS) issued by American Heart Association, required
• Experience: 6 months experience in a health care setting preferred; 1 year of adult critical care experience, neonatal or adult, preferred
