Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a part-time role at Evanston Hospital in Evanston, IL. The position is 20 hours per week with shifts ranging 7am–3pm, 3pm–11pm, 11pm–7am, and other variations.

The ideal candidate has an accredited respiratory therapy program, Illinois licensure or registry eligibility, CPR, and ACLS/NRP/PALS within the required timelines. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered and duties include patient assessments, treatment delivery, documentation, and

Qualifications

• Must graduate from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current license as Respiratory Therapist in Illinois or registry-eligible status.
• CPR certification, ACLS/NRP/PALS within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with respiratory therapy procedures.
• Provide therapy to neonatal through geriatric patients as ordered.
• Assess patients to determine the best administration method.
• Document treatments, equipment maintenance and orders.
• Educate patients and family about treatments.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$33.16 - $49.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

• Location: Evanston Hospital - Evanston, IL
• Part Time | 20 hours/week
• Hours: Shift varies Monday - Sunday from 7am - 3pm, 3pm - 11pm, 11pm - 7am, 7am - 7pm, 7pm - 7am, and 11am - 11pm

What you will do:

• Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians
• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
• Provide patient and staff education

What you will need:

• Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), required
• License/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status, required
• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure required within six months of employment
• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association, required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required within 24 months of employment
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required within 24 months of employment
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 24 months of employment
