Job summary

Endeavor Health is hiring a Respiratory Therapist for per diem Level 2 shifts in Arlington Heights, IL. The role covers neonatal to geriatric care, with weekday 7:00am–7:30pm shifts and one weekend/holiday shift every 6 weeks. Active licensure and CPR required, ACLS/NRP/PALS within set timeframes, and CoARC-accredited education.

You will document treatments, monitor responses, and educate patients and families while supporting physicians and staff. Per diem benefits and premium pay may apply.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program (CoARC).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or registry-eligible status.
• Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner license within six months of employment.
• Current CPR certification (American Heart Association).
• ACLS within 24 months of employment.
• NRP within 24 months of employment.
• PALS within 24 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assists Physicians with Respiratory Therapy procedures as requested.
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians.
• Assess patients to determine the most suitable method of administering treatment.
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe orders.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly to patient and family.
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy, with attention to pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Provide patient and staff education.

Hourly Pay Range:

$33.16 - $49.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem Level 2 - Days
• Location: Northwest Community Hospital - Arlington Heights, IL
• Per Diem Commitment Level 2: 73-110 hours per 6-week schedule?
• Hours: Shifts will vary Monday-Friday from 7:00am-7:30pm. 1 weekend and 1 holiday shift during 6 week period, required. Holidays are scheduled with A/B rotation.

What you will do:

• Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians
• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
• Provide patient and staff education

What you will need:

• Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
• License/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status
• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment
• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 24 months of employment
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within 24 months of employment
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 24 months of employment
