Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to deliver advanced respiratory care in alignment with physician orders. This role serves as a resource to CRT staff and may lead special projects as directed by leadership.

You will perform diagnostic testing, manage medications, educate patients and families, and participate in quality initiatives. Responsibilities include adhering to protocols, documenting accurately, and promoting ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Graduate of a NBRC approved Respiratory Therapist program is required. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT).
• Current license as Registered Respiratory Therapy in the state of practice is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers is required.
• Specific certifications as required (i.e. PALS, ACLS, NRP) is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic testing procedures according to protocol. Obtains arterial gases.
• Administers medications in a timely and safe manner. Evaluates effect and re-evaluates appropriately and according to protocol.
• Maintains awareness of assigned patient’s overall condition and communicates with physicians and nurses.
• Completes documentation according to departmental standards and monitors supplies and equipment.
• Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives and contributes ideas.
• Promotes the profession of Respiratory Care and mentors staff within department and patient care areas.
