Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist I to provide essential respiratory care across care settings. Under supervision, you will perform assessments, treatments, monitoring, and patient education, while developing clinical expertise and collaborating with the care team.

New hires must meet licensure and certification requirements detailed by MaineHealth, with a sign-on bonus of $20,000 for eligible candidates. Full- and part-time, night shifts available in Maine.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Co-ARC approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
• Current state license in Respiratory Care; CRT required, or RRT required; RRT to advance to Respiratory Therapist II.
• BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
• ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications as required by facility, or must obtain within one year of start date.
• No experience required.

• Continue to develop clinical expertise, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration while progressing within the respiratory care role.

Summary

The Respiratory Therapist I demonstrates basic competency in foundational respiratory care procedures under supervision, and provides assessment, treatment, monitoring, and education to patients across care settings. Continues to develop clinical expertise and critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration while progressing within the respiratory care role.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: Graduate from a Co-ARC approved school of Respiratory Therapy required.


• License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license in Respiratory Care required. Minimum of a CRT certification required, or a RRT certification is required. Must have an RRT certification to advance to a Respiratory Therapist II. Current BLS certification required, or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Current ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications as required by facility, or must obtain within one year of start date.

The pay range for this position is $34.35 to $46.46 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
