Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostics, and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric patients. You will monitor and wean oxygen therapy, analyze ABGs and EKGs, and assist with artificial airways under physician orders.

The position requires an Associate's Degree, current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, NBRC CRT credential, and BLS. ACLS within 90 days of hire; NICU NRP if assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
• Credentialed by NBRC as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
• BLS certification required; NRP for NICU staff; ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures per policy.
• Reviews and documents clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and coworkers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Provides patient care aligned with age-specific criteria.
• Maintains up-to-date professional certifications and knowledge.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in related duties.
