Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric patients.

Responsibilities include arterial blood gases, EKGs, airway management and following physician orders per policy. Requires an Associate's Degree and active Respiratory Therapist license in the state; BLS and ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• Current Respiratory Therapist license in state of practice.
• NRP certification required for NICU trained therapists.
• ACLS required within 90 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced respiratory procedures per policy.
• Reviews and documents clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and coworkers on procedures and plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures and monitors patient status.
• Maintains up-to-date professional certifications.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in quality initiatives.
• Other duties as required.
