Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for full-time night shifts (6pm-6:30am, 3x12s: Fri, Sat, Sun). The role involves providing respiratory care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, and collaborating with physicians and nursing staff to optimize ventilation and therapy outcomes.

Requirements include NBRC-registered respiratory therapist status, Michigan state license, and BLS; NRP is preferred for neonatal care.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist credentialed by NBRC.
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist in Michigan.
• NRP certification preferred or tracked for Special Care Nursery.
• BLS certification required or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

Responsibilities

• Assess cardiopulmonary status of patients and develop treatment plans.
• Administer respiratory therapies and monitor effectiveness.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses on care plans.
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and related equipment.
• Perform blood gas sampling and analysis.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory therapy procedures.
• Respond to codes and emergencies as needed.
• Assist in training respiratory therapy students and staff.
