Job summary

Trinity Health Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, MI seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Full-time, 12 Hour Night shift. You will provide individualized respiratory care across all ages, collaborate with the health care team, and participate in staff orientation and training.

Requirements include an accredited respiratory therapy program, NBRC RRT certification, Michigan licensure, and BLS. NRP and ACLS are required within 6 months of hire; prior RT experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program.
• Registered as Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
• Current licensure to practice in the State of Michigan as Respiratory Therapist.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association required.
• Maintain Neonatal Resuscitation Practitioner (NRP) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Both required within 6 months of hire.
• Previous work experience as a Respiratory Therapist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates technical and clinical competence in adult critical care. Applies patient care protocols and utilizes assessment information to review and revise plan of care accordingly.
• Excellent organizational skills for the completion of patient care. Demonstrates ability to prioritize therapy and patient care activities to meet changing demands.
• Communicates with healthcare providers, units, and other customers on an ongoing basis to coordinate services and exceed customer service needs. Acts as a resource to physicians, nurses, and other team members to address clinical patient care concerns.
• Ensures appropriate documentation/charges are entered for the correct patient, encounter, date/time of service per practice expectations and facilitates corrections as needed.
• Assists with tracking and monitoring of equipment and requests services for maintaining equipment as needed.
• Participates in on-going education and takes personal accountability to seek experiences in order to maintain skills/competency.
