Qualifications

• CAAHEP-accredited associate degree in respiratory therapy.
• Current state licensure as a respiratory therapist.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through NBRC.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, examines and assesses patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders.
• Consults with physicians to develop patient treatment plans and creates therapy programs.
• Performs diagnostic tests such as measuring lung capacity and using a blood gas analyzer.
• Delivers chest physiotherapy, aerosol medications, and non-invasive ventilation therapies (CPAP/BIPAP).
• Monitors and records the progress of treatment.
