Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide care for patients in emergency, ICU and other units, performing diagnostic tests, therapy programs and patient education as directed by physicians.

The role requires an Associate degree in respiratory therapy, active state licensure, NBRC RRT credentials, and BLS certification. Schedule is full-time, with nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a Respiratory Therapy program that is CAAHEP-accredited.
• Current state licensure as a respiratory therapist.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through NBRC.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, examines and assesses patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders.
• Consults with physicians to develop patient treatment plans and creates therapy programs.
• Performs diagnostic tests such as measuring lung capacity, blood samples, and blood gas analysis.
• Delivers treatments including chest physiotherapy, aerosols, CPAP/BIPAP, and ventilator support when needed.
• Monitors and records the progress of treatment.
