Job summary

Accolade Healthcare in Illinois seeks a dedicated Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) to assess, monitor, and treat residents with respiratory needs. The role requires independent work within an interdisciplinary team and aims to reduce avoidable hospital readmissions.

The position offers a competitive pay rate of $45-$55 per hour, with benefits including health, retirement plan, paid leave, and more. Travel reimbursement may be available depending on assignments.

Qualifications

• Active CRT or RRT credentials.
• Active license in good standing with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
• CPR certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.
• Experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a Home Health, LTACH, or sub-acute setting is a plus.
• This position is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient evaluation.
• Provide thorough medical record evaluation.
• Provide appropriate treatment to maintain or attain highest respiratory function.
• Evaluate and treat residents with respiratory problems including tracheostomies and suctioning.
• Assess care outcomes and make recommendations for changes in the plan of care.
• Wean and manage supplemental oxygen.
• Wean and manage tracheostomies.
• Assist with pulmonary rehabilitation modalities.
• Perform all aspects of direct respiratory patient care.
• Educate residents or caregivers to maintain respiratory function.
• Operate respiratory care equipment safely.
• Participate in staff education.
• Maintain respiratory supply stock.
• Assist nursing staff as required.
• All other duties as assigned.
