Position Overview

The RT II is responsible for medication administration, respiratory care, patient education, and participation in staff development, primarily in critical care settings. The role involves protocol ventilator management, independent decision-making, and addressing patient-specific needs, including biological, emotional, developmental, and psychosocial aspects.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and patient care
• Perform assessments, collaborate on care planning, and administer therapies
• Manage ventilators, perform arterial blood gases, and assist in procedures
• Educate patients and mentor staff and students
• Ensure safety and quality in patient care and documentation
• Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practices

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program with science coursework
• Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's preferred
• 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care
• Registered Respiratory Therapist and Respiratory Care Professional certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and instructor certifications required
