The Respiratory Therapist II is responsible for medication administration and implementing respiratory care based on expanded knowledge, experience, and the evaluate-and-treat process. The RT II delivers patient care in complex situations, primarily in critical care areas, with protocol ventilator management, independent decision-making, and self-direction. Responsibilities also include patient and family education, activity coordination, staff development, and professional growth. The RT II provides care with awareness of population-specific needs, addressing biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and educational needs, and participates in educating new employees and others.
Kennestone Hospital
Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program with at least 20 quarter hours of science. An Associate's degree is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
0-2 years of clinical experience with at least 6 months in critical care.
Strong communication, critical thinking, relationship-building with healthcare professionals, computer literacy, assessment, and customer service skills.
