Job summary

Mercy Health’s Lorain Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner II (PRN) to provide high‑quality respiratory care in a fast‑paced environment. You will assess patients, plan and implement therapies, educate patients and families, and monitor responses to treatment.

The role includes precepting students and possibly acting as Charge Therapist to ensure adequate staffing. Required: current state license, NBRC credential, and at least two years’ experience; RRT and advanced life support

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Respiratory Care Professional (required)
• Current Respiratory Care License in the state (required)
• NBRC credentialed (required)
• RRT (preferred)
• BLS/ACLS/PALS (preferred, must obtain before direct patient care)
• NRP (preferred, required for certain sites)
• CPFT/RPFT (preferred)
• ACCS NBRC (preferred)
• Valid driver's license (required for Home Care/DME)

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care through patient assessment, planning, intervention, education, and evaluation
• Perform all respiratory care procedures within scope of license
• Monitor patient response and modify therapy as needed
• Serve as a preceptor to new team members
• May act as shift Charge Therapist to ensure adequate staffing
• Document patient care and maintain records
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapies and equipment
• Set up and maintain respiratory therapy equipment
