Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Kentucky is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide bedside respiratory care, administer therapy, monitor cardio-pulmonary status, and collaborate with the health-care team to restore and maintain patient well-being.

You will perform diagnostic tests, mentor students from clinical affiliates, and ensure safety and compliance with state and federal regulations while delivering compassionate care in a Regular 36-hour schedule.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential required.
• State certification to practice Respiratory Therapy required.
• Associate degree in applied science or equivalent.
• Maintain NBRC credential per Continuing Competency requirements.
• ACLS certification required post-hire if not already certified.

Responsibilities

• Administers safe, effective respiratory treatments and gas therapy per current standards.
• Maintain and sterilize equipment and supplies; ensure a clean, safe work environment.
• Follow duties in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Complete required safety, infection control and age-specific programs.
• Document therapy effects and communicate with the health care team for continuity of care.
• Mentor students from clinical affiliates and assess cardiopulmonary status to implement care plans.
