Job summary

FutureCare in Baltimore, MD is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to support our residents with personalized care plans and respiratory procedures under physician orders.

You will assess respiratory status, manage ventilators and airway devices, perform blood gas sampling, administer medications, educate residents and staff, and ensure safety and quality in daily operations. Maryland licensure and CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Maryland licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical respiratory experience.
• Current CPR certification with recertification every two years.
• Ability to lift at least 35 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Accept and transcribe verbal and telephone orders from physicians for respiratory therapy procedures.
• Monitor and manage ventilators, airway devices, and wean residents as ordered.
• Perform respiratory procedures including chest physiotherapy, pulmonary function testing, and oxygen administration.
• Obtain blood gas samples and document ventilator settings and patient responses.
• Provide education to residents, families, and staff; participate in performance improvement activities.
• Document accurately and report abnormal findings to supervisors.
