Accendra Health in Washington state seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a mostly on-site role with limited travel. You will perform home visits, educate patients, and manage oxygen and ventilation equipment, coordinating with physicians and care teams.

Requirements include WA RT license (or willingness to obtain), CPR, and a valid driver’s license. You’ll work with iPad/laptop documentation and participate in on-call rotations as needed.

• Ability to stand, lift and move up to 50 lbs; valid driver's license.
• Comfortable using mobile technology and digital documentation.

Why is this Respiratory Therapist role different

This role provides a strong balance of office-based patient support and limited travel, with highly manageable on-call expectations. Ideal for RTs who thrive in a collaborative, hands‑on environment with a focus on patient education and respiratory care excellence.

Key highlights

• Work Arrangement: On-site; 60% office, 40% road.
• Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Driving Distance: Up to 70 miles; normally 20–30 miles.
• Moving in between locations

Salary range

• $40 – $45 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.

On-Call transparency

• 1 week every 4-6 weeks

What you’ll do

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and elevate concerns appropriately
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
• Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation
• Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
• Performs other duties as required

What we look for

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active WA RT license. OR RT License is a plus or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license
• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations

• Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
• Hold a current CPR Certification
• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
