Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to assess, monitor, and treat patients with respiratory conditions. You will conduct pulmonary function tests using spirometry, educate patients on devices and medications, and collaborate with pulmonologists and the healthcare team to optimize care.

Ideal candidates hold current licensure as an RRT and have experience with spirometry; CPFT certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is required.
  • Experience performing spirometry testing is required.
  • Must be available on occasional weekdays.
  • Knowledge of respiratory equipment and medications.
  • Strong communication and patient care skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • NBRC certification and/or CPFT certification preferred.
  • AARC Office Spirometry Certificate accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, monitor, and treat patients with respiratory conditions.
  • Conduct pulmonary function screenings and spirometry tests.
  • Provide patient instructions for pulmonary function tests.
  • Educate patients on respiratory equipment and medications.
  • Administer albuterol after pulmonary function examinations.
  • Perform pre- and post-pulmonary function testing and other diagnostics.
  • Monitor patient progress, equipment functionality, and patient comfort.
  • Adjust therapies as necessary.
  • Communicate with pulmonologists and healthcare team members.
  • Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow safety protocols.
