Job summary

Jobtailor in Alaska seeks a Respiratory Therapist to assess, monitor, and treat patients with respiratory conditions. You will work with physicians, nurses, pulmonologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans and conduct spirometry.

Travel to populated areas within Alaska is required occasionally. The role requires NBRC/CPFT certifications and state licensure, proficiency with pulmonary function testing and educating patients on inhalers and nebulizers,

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or RRT.
• NBRC and/or CPFT certification preferred.
• AARC Office Spirometry Certificate accepted.
• Availability on occasional weekdays; no weekends.
• Experience performing spirometry testing.
• Strong communication and patient care skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of respiratory equipment and medications.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and treat patients with respiratory conditions.
• Work with physicians, nurses, pulmonologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans.
• Conduct pulmonary function screenings and spirometry tests.
• Educate patients on test prep, equipment, inhalers, nebulizers, and medications.
• Administer albuterol after pulmonary function examinations.
• Monitor patient progress and equipment status.
• Communicate with the team as needed.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment following safety protocols.
• Travel occasionally to various populated areas within Alaska.
