Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a licensed Respiratory Therapist to assess, monitor, and treat patients with respiratory conditions in a collaborative hospital setting in Corpus Christi, TX. You will conduct spirometry, educate patients on inhalers and nebulizers, and administer albuterol after tests.

The role requires RRT/NBRC certifications, strong communication, and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team. Weekend coverage is not required; weekdays availability is required.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• NBRC Certification and/or CPFT preferred
• AARC Office Spirometry Certificate accepted
• Must be available on occasional weekdays; no weekends
• Experience performing spirometry testing
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Knowledge of respiratory equipment and medications

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and treat patients with respiratory conditions including asthma, COPD, pneumonia, bronchitis, and emphysema
• Work with physicians, nurses, pulmonologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Conduct pulmonary function screenings and comprehensive pulmonary function tests using spirometry equipment
• Provide patient instructions for pulmonary function tests and educate patients on inhalers, nebulizers, and medications such as albuterol
• Administer albuterol after pulmonary function examinations
• Conduct pre- and post-pulmonary function testing and other diagnostic evaluations
• Monitor patient progress, treatment response, equipment functionality, and patient comfort
• Communicate with pulmonologists and team members as necessary
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow respiratory therapy safety protocols
