Job summary

Ochsner Health System seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support for in-patients and out-patients from neonatal to geriatric. Responsibilities include ABG analysis, EKGs, and patient education, with strong emphasis on safety and policy compliance.

Required: Associate's Degree, state license as a Respiratory Therapist, NBRC CRT, BLS; NICU-trained therapists require NRP and ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's degree in respiratory care or related field.
• Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice is required.
• Credentialed by NBRC as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• NRP Certification required for NICU trained therapists.
• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced respiratory procedures per policy.
• Reviews and documents clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and coworkers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures such as ABGs and EKGs.
