Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Louisiana seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide RT-CRT treatments, oxygen services, diagnostics and ventilation support for patients from neonatal to geriatric. The RT-CRT analyzes ABG samples and records data for physicians and care teams.

Requirements include an Associate's degree (Bachelor's preferred), current state license, NBRC RRT certification, and BLS; ACLS within 90 days of hire. On-site schedule with patient-centered care and strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
• Certification by the NBRC as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• BLS from American Heart Association.
• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides respiratory care treatments, oxygen services, diagnostics and ventilation support.
• Performs arterial blood gas analysis and EKGs; documents clinical data.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians.
• Assists with patient population-specific care, respecting privacy and safety policies.
• Adapts care to neonatal through geriatric patients as needed.
