Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide expert oxygen delivery, ventilator management, and therapeutic procedures. The role involves independent work across patient care areas, using EMR systems effectively and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will be licensed as an RRT, with BLS and facility-specific certifications, and possess an associate degree in respiratory therapy (BSRT preferred).

Qualifications

• Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC.
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist in applicable state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required for healthcare providers.
• Advanced certification as required by facility/department.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge in oxygen delivery modes and equipment for prescribed therapy.
• Administers therapeutic procedures and conducts diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Initiates and monitors mechanical and non-invasive ventilation.
• Evaluates therapies and recommends care plans and patient education needs.
• Documents therapy results and communicates with the care team.
• Performs blood gas sampling and analyzes results.
• Works independently across patient care areas and uses EMR efficiently.
• Follows safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements.
