MedStar Health is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to join the team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. The ideal candidate will be a certified respiratory therapist with strong patient care skills and a solid knowledge of respiratory care equipment and procedures.

The position requires an AMA-accredited associate degree in respiratory care with an AAS or higher, NBRC CRT, BLS, and ACLS/NRP/PALS within one year of hire.

Formación

• Associate degree from AMA accredited program in respiratory care with an AAS or higher.
• CRT NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist or NBRC Registered Pulmonary Function Technician.
• BLS required.
• ACLS within one year of hire.
• NRP within one year of hire.
• PALS within one year of hire.
• Registry eligibility; acute experience preferred.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree and RRT certification.

Responsabilidades

• Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, spiritual and cultural needs and document.
• Perform respiratory therapies and manage equipment and services (oxygen, humidity, ventilators, bronchial hygiene, spirometry, EKG, blood gas).
• Communicate effectively with patients and teams; problem solve and intervene in crises.
• Respond to CPR events, maintain airway and ventilation.
• Improve workflow by reviewing EMR and orders and suggesting improvements.
