MedStar Health seeks a certified Respiratory Care Practitioner to join the team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. The role delivers comprehensive respiratory therapies to patients across ages, under physician orders, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and compassionate care.

The ideal candidate holds an AMA-accredited respiratory care degree, NBRC credentials, and current Life Support certifications. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, document care, and support quality

Formación

• Associate degree from AMA-accredited respiratory care program (AAS or higher).
• CRT NBRC credential required (RRT or RPFT).
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS within one year of hire.
• Registry-eligible with some acute experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in related healthcare field preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Assess patient needs across physical, psychosocial, spiritual and educational dimensions and document accordingly.
• Deliver all respiratory therapy treatments and manage equipment (oxygen, humidity, ventilators, bronchial hygiene, lung expansion, spirometry, EKGs, blood gas analysis).
• Apply therapeutic communication, problem solving and crisis intervention in patient care.
• Participate in CPR and airway management as needed.
• Monitor interdepartmental systems and physician orders; review EMR and suggest workflow improvements.
