Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System seeks a Respiratory Therapist to administer and coordinate treatments for patients across the lifespan and properly chart care in the EMR. You will work as part of the interdisciplinary team, providing direct care and communicating changes to colleagues, with a focus on safe, evidence-based practice.

The role requires active participation in regular huddles, staff meetings, and safety initiatives, including error prevention tools.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as a Respiratory Therapist (Respiratory Care Professional) in the state of Georgia.
• Associates Degree required.
• One year of prior experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with nurses on patient care issues, ventilator changes and ABG results.
• Documents treatments and any medications delivered in EMR and related records.
• Manages ventilators by parameters and assesses chart information to guide care.
• Provides patient education and follows up on critical care patients moving to floor areas.
• Performs assigned therapies and ensures timely treatment delivery.
• Participates in shift reports and supports unit practice council.
