Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System in Georgia is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to administer and coordinate treatments related to respiratory care across the lifespan, chart care, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.

You will respond to emergencies, manage ventilators, document in EMR, and participate in huddles and safety initiatives to deliver safe patient care.

Requires GA licensure, an associate degree, and passing registry; one year experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist (Respiratory Care Professional) in Georgia.
• Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
• Successful completion of registry examination.

Responsibilities

• Communicates effectively with nurses on patient care issues and ventilator changes.
• Communicates with physicians on patient orders and ABG results.
• Maintains complete documentation in the medical record and EMR.
• Responsible for management of ventilators and critical care patients.
• Gives detailed shift reports, preferably bedside.
• Performs patient consultations/assessments as requested.
• Assists with other duties to ensure quality patient care.
