Job summary

Johns Hopkins Intrastaff is hiring a Respiratory Therapist for Suburban Hospital. This full-time night shift position runs 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with rotating weekends, offering $65.00 per hour.

The RT will support outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation, monitor patient vitals, and educate patients on disease management. Collaborate with the pulmonary rehab team to ensure patient safety and quality care while adhering to infection control and departmental policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA‑approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Maryland State Board of Physicians.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the NBRC required.
• Current AHA BLS & ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Observe and assess patients during pulmonary rehabilitation sessions.
• Monitor and obtain vital signs as appropriate.
• Assist patients throughout therapy activities to ensure safety and tolerance.
• Provide patient education related to pulmonary disease management and rehabilitation goals.
• Respond appropriately to patient needs or changes in condition.
• Work collaboratively with the pulmonary rehab team, including another RT responsible for documentation.
• Follow infection control, safety, and departmental policies.
• Maintain a professional, supportive, and respectful environment for all patients.
