Job summary

Johns Hopkins Intrastaff is seeking experienced Respiratory Therapists for the NICU at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC. This PRN position offers shifts on both days and nights, working with a collaborative team in a leading academic health system.

Responsibilities include administration of all respiratory care modalities, patient assessments, and EHR documentation. Requirements include an Associate degree, DC Respiratory License, BLS CPR, and RRT certification, with NICU experience

Qualifications

• Minimum of Associates degree is required.
• DC Respiratory License is required.
• BLS CPR required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is required.
• Experience working in the NICU is required.

Responsibilities

• Administer all respiratory care modalities including invasive and non-invasive ventilation, inhaled medications, medical gases, humidity therapy, airway management, bronchial hygiene, chest tube management, blood gas management, and intra-hospital transport.
• Render comprehensive assessments of patients with cardiopulmonary compromise and interpret data to inform evidence-based care.
• Manage clinical patient electronic health records including documentation, billing, and hand-offs.

Schedule

Pay Rate

• $55.00 per hour
• Responsible for the administration of all respiratory care modalities, that include the following:
• Invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation
• Inhaled medication administration
• Administration of medical gases
• Humidity therapy
• Airway management
• Bronchial hygiene/airway clearance
• Chest tube management
• Blood gas management
• Intra-hospital transport
• Responsible for rendering comprehensive assessments to patients with cardiopulmonary compromise including clinical pathways and interpreting patient data to make evidence-based recommendations for continued care.
• Responsible for clinical patient electronic health record management including clinical documentation, billing, and hand-off.
• Minimum of Associates degree is required
• DC Respiratory License is required
• BLS CPR required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (R.R.T.) required
• Experience working in the NICU is required
