Job summary

Flint Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation in Newark, OH seeks an experienced Respiratory Director to lead our Respiratory Therapy Department and ventilator program.

You will supervise respiratory therapists, oversee care for ventilator and tracheostomy patients, recruit and train staff, manage scheduling, and ensure compliance with state and facility standards. This is a full-time leadership role in our skilled nursing setting, offering opportunity to shape outcomes and grow our specialized services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Active Ohio Respiratory Care Practitioner license required (RRT preferred).
• Ventilator and tracheostomy experience strongly preferred.
• Previous respiratory leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of the Respiratory Therapy Department.
• Oversee respiratory care for ventilator and tracheostomy residents.
• Supervise, support, and develop Respiratory Therapists.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and competency validation of respiratory staff.
• Coordinate department scheduling and ensure appropriate respiratory coverage.
• Ensure ventilators and respiratory equipment are maintained, inspected, and used appropriately.
• Monitor clinical documentation, treatment plans, and respiratory protocols.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership, physicians, administration, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in care planning and help ensure strong clinical outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with applicable state, federal, and facility standards.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen and grow Flint Ridge's ventilator and respiratory program.
• Promote a positive, accountable, team-focused culture.

Flint Ridge provides ventilator, tracheostomy, oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and other specialized respiratory services within our skilled nursing setting.
