Job summary

Flint Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation in Newark, OH is seeking an experienced Respiratory Director to lead our Respiratory Therapy Department and specialized ventilator program.

You will oversee care for ventilator and tracheostomy residents, supervise therapists, recruit and train staff, and coordinate department scheduling while ensuring compliance with state and facility standards. A strong clinical leader with an Ohio license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Active Ohio Respiratory Care Practitioner license required.
• RRT preferred.
• Ventilator and tracheostomy experience strongly preferred.
• Prior leadership or management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of the Respiratory Therapy Department
• Oversee respiratory care for ventilator, tracheostomy, and other respiratory residents
• Supervise, support, and develop Respiratory Therapists
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and competency validation of respiratory staff
• Coordinate department scheduling and ensure appropriate respiratory coverage
• Ensure ventilators and respiratory equipment are maintained, inspected, and used appropriately
• Monitor clinical documentation, treatment plans, and respiratory protocols
• Collaborate with nursing leadership, physicians, administration, and the interdisciplinary team
• Participate in care planning and help ensure strong clinical outcomes
• Maintain compliance with applicable state, federal, and facility standards
• Help identify opportunities to strengthen and grow Flint Ridge's ventilator and respiratory program
• Promote a positive, accountable, team-focused culture
