Job description

Crocker Pointe, a skilled nursing facility in Westlake, Ohiois seeking a Respiratory Therapy Director to join our team. The schedule can vary and be flexible.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES

include the following; other duties may be assigned.

• Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
• Operates equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment such as volume, gas concentration, humidity, and temperature, and to administer medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients under orders of Physicians.
• Monitors patient’s physiological responses to therapy through patient vital signs.
• Assists patients in performing breathing exercises.
• Maintains patient’s chart that contain pertinent identification and therapy information.
• Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.
• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other health care personnel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program with an active Certification in Respiratory
Therapy (CRT) required. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred. Previous experience
working as a Respiratory Therapist in a long term care setting required. Ability to communicate,
organize and direct changes related to resident care required.

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, COMPLIANCE CHECKS AND/OR CERTIFICATION

Successfully complete &/or comply with all required background checks to include but not limited to:
Ohio BCI&I fingerprint analysis, FBI (if applicable) fingerprint analysis, Nurse Aide Registry, HHS/OIG
list of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE) & Ohio Medicaid Provider Exclusion and Suspension List.
Certification in Ohio as a Respiratory Therapist required. Registered Respiratory Therapist preferred.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR PATIENT CARE

Provide services based on physician orders. Communicate physician, patient and family needs with
the appropriate caregivers.

COMPUTER

Intermediate personal computer skills including electronic mail, routine database activity and word
processing.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to coordinate the direction and management of the schedule for the assigned department(s)
within assigned facility.

Works regularly with some information such as medical records or reports, financial reports,
information on computer screens or other electronic devices, and records that are restricted to
specific persons. Must comply with confidentiality policy.
